Figure sculpture has become surprisingly topical for me to practice in the isolation of the pandemic. Though making a space to work at home is challenging, its been far more rewarding to be able to create in an accessible way, drawing inspiration from my own state of being. In the process of sculpting a self portrait bust, I found myself thinking a lot about my family as hints of my parents and grandparents appear in my own features.
